Founded in 1961, WEG operates mainly in the sector of capital goods and is one of the largest world manufacturer of electric-electronic equipment, with five main product lines: Motors, Power, Transmission and Distribution, Automation and Coatings. With over 24 thousand employees, it had a net revenues of R$ 5.2 billion in 2011. The Company headquarters and main manufacturing facilities are located in Jaraguá do Sul, state of Santa Catarina. Additional plants in Brazil are located in the states of Rio Grande do Sul (Gravataí), Santa Catarina (Blumenau, Guaramirim, Itajaí, Joaçaba and São José), São Paulo (São Paulo, São Bernardo do Campo and Mauá), Amazonas (Manaus), Espírito Santo (Linhares) and Pernanbuco (Cabo de Santo Agostinho).
